Yasmeen Rotana Hotel
LOCATION: DAMASCUS, SYRIA
USE: HOSPITALITY
SCOPE: EXTERNAL & FAĆADE LIGHTING DESIGN
The classical tripartite scheme was the main guideline for the lighting proposal.
Both the base and top were treated as high lighting level areas, in order to stress the building’s volumetry and presence in the neighborhood. The middle area was then planned as a medium light zone, with a strong focus on the architectural details, enhancing the overall hotel’s appearance.
The rigorous lighting strategy was enriched by the use of warm white color light, increasing the stone’s golden hue. Finally, the red lantern effect at the top provides the building with a contrasting and contemporary anecdote, bringing the hotel back to our days.
