The lighting upgrade and enhancement for this 750.000m² residential and commercial development included all street and public realm lighting. The study commenced with a site survey to identify the existing problems and produce an as-built lighting documentation package, including the lighting inventory. The solutions proposed for the deficient street lighting scheme relied mainly on the retrofit of the existing lighting poles, in order to comply with IESNA road lighting standards, while minimizing expenditure and maximizing the ROI. The overall result is a 65% increase on average illumination levels, increased uniformity and 32% energy reduction.
