Mitco Building

LOCATION: JEDDAH, KSA
USE: OFFICES & CORPORATE
SCOPE: FAÇADE LIGHTING DESIGN

The façade lighting proposal for this commercial project in the centre of Jeddah focuses the attention on the two main architectural components of the building.

Linear LED lines recessed in the glass mullions provide speed and dynamism, while visually reconstructing the corner of the building during the night. The random distribution of lines derived from the rotation of the pattern formed by the vertical glass fins along the glazing.

The windows along the side wall are illuminated from the sides, emphasizing the thickness of the wall, rendering the stone cladding texture and providing a visual anchor to the structure. Complementary lighting strategies were added to keep the right balance of brightness across the project, namely grazers washing the louvers and uplights illuminating the columns.
