Millennium Biltmore Hotel
LOCATION: RIYADH, KSA
USE: HOSPITALITY
SCOPE: INTERNAL LIGHTING DESIGN
Throughout all interior spaces, the architectural lighting scheme utilized a distinctive yet practical combination of direct and indirect lighting, complemented by the addition of elegant decorative fixtures to emphasize the refined nature of the Biltmore Hotel.
As regards direct lighting, recessed downlights of different beam angles were utilized to either create soft ambient lighting or dramatic effects through accents. The indirect lights, composed of hidden linear lights mounted into coves, help in highlighting the interior architectural details whilst adding an attractive layer of light.
The use of several layers of light empowered the operator with increased flexibility when it came to creating a variety of different lighting scenarios for each area. Lighting levels were mindfully selected based upon the function that each particular space serves. Dimmable lighting sources were specified to allow for a more energy efficient lighting scheme.
