Jumeirah Bay Resort

LOCATION: DUBAI, UAE
USE: HOSPITALITY
SCOPE: INTERNAL & FAÇADE LIGHTING DESIGN

The façade lighting has low brightness and extra warm color temperature to create an inviting and relaxing environment. A soft wash emphasizes the architectural features, producing a nice balance between bright and dark surfaces.

The entrance area has increased brightness to attract and guide visitors, while decorative lanterns matching the overall architecture and design intent add a warm touch to the arrival experience. The light coming from the internal areas on the ground floor plays beautifully with the softly lit external surfaces

The limestone walls on the ground floor are lit in the same manner, blending outdoor and indoor areas, and defining them as the main architectural feature. Furthermore, the light bouncing off those wall adds a warm and relaxing tone of light.

The water bodies next to the façade were kept dark to act as mirrors reflecting the building, creating a dramatic effect during the nighttime. Finally, the upper facade panels were gently washed to allow the pavilions to appear as if they are floating above the ground.
