To attain LEED Platinum certification our team was requested by ESAB Middle East to provide a lighting solution that would comply with credits SS8, EAPr2, EA1 and EQ6.1 of the LEED for New Constructions Rating System.

Our main approach regarding internal areas was to propose a base + task lighting scheme, providing rest and circulation areas with base lighting while concentrating on locating the task lighting were necessary, in order to reduce the lighting power density to a minimum.

Special consideration was taken in the use of low consumption lamp sources, low loss control gears and high efficiency fixtures, to make the most out of the allowed power load.

After exhaustive calculations and analysis, we were able to provide a solution that went beyond the requirements, helping to achieve all four credits.
