Damac Heights Tower
LOCATION: DUBAI, UAE
USE: HIGH RISE – RESIDENTIAL
SCOPE: FAÇADE LIGHTING DESIGN
Built at Dubai’s waterfront, this residential tower rises 86 floors into the sky, offering unobstructed panoramic views of the ocean and Palm Jumeirah.
The façade lighting proposal was based on the idea of a beacon, used as a referential element during the night to guide sailors at sea. The top mechanical floors and roof louvers were lit from the inside to convey this idea, creating a subtle glow at the top of the tower. A dynamic linear effect at both sides of the building adds vitality to the visual composition, while enhancing the building’s shape and gesture.
The result is an attractive yet elegant lighting scheme, which reinforces the presence of the tower in the coastline, while ensuring residents a non-existent visual disruption.
