Bahria Town Gate

LOCATION: KARACHI, PAKISTAN
USE: URBAN & COMMUNITIES
SCOPE: EXTERNAL AND PUBLIC REALM LIGHTING DESIGN

The lighting design development for this entrance gate is composed of two different schemes. The first one has a sculptural approach, with neutral warm white light focusing on rendering the structure, enhancing the curves and playing with the lights and shadows.

The second scheme aims at capturing the speed and movement intrinsic to the building’s design. A dynamic effect in the form of pulsating blue strokes was added to the side arms, inspired on the tracks of headlights and capturing the speed of the highway.

This transforms the gate into a phenomenon, a show in itself. As requested in the brief, entering the city becomes a visual and sensorial experience.
