Given the size, location and exposure of this project, the main lighting design purpose was to transform the building into an iconic element during the nighttime, a landmark which would be recognized from the distance and admired from proximity.

The lighting design scheme was organized in two main groups; one focusing on the architectural elements which give the building its unique style, and a second one used to reveal the general massing of the mosque. These two groups work independently, and provide diverse scenes throughout the night.
